- All teams have scheduled reffing duties for round robin. There will be paid refs for playoff-games.
- One head ref is required for each game. Teams may optionally choose to provide lines/down-refs for games.
- Refs for all games must ask each team captain who their teams’ choice is for MVP on the other team and write down both names on the scoresheet upon completion of a game
- Scoresheets must be handed in by the ref to the scoring table immediately following the completion of a game
- Missing ref assignments may result in your team not receiving a ‘Team MVP’ shirt.
- No score cap
- 1 timeout per set per team
- In South Gym, 1 step in on both sides
- In North gym, no steps in on either side for any court
- With more than 6 players, teams are allowed to have players sub in/out out the back without counting as using a sub (allows for equal playtime within teams). However, there must still always be 3 females and 3 males on the court at all times.
- 6 subs per team per set, which is likely high enough to be treated as unlimited subs.
- If both teams and the ref are ready to go, games can start ahead of time
- Late penalty. Forfeit of set, 15 minutes until the 2nd set is forfeited.
It is a good idea for players to familiarize themselves with WCVL rules. Remember that in difficult cases there is always the option to call a re-serve. You do not have to be a certified ref, the main things to watch for are in/out, touches, and line faults (attack line, service line).
